From Tom Morr email 5/1/2019:

City Council will proclaim Safe Boating Week (May 18-24, 2019) at its meeting on May 6, 2019 at Council Chambers located at 51 Bald Eagle Drive, Marco Island.  Members of all boating organizations on Marco Island are invited to attend.  The proclamation will occur early in the agenda so that you should be there by 5:30 p.m. when the meeting begins.  There will be a photo of the ceremony.  Please attend so that the Squadron is well represented.

Squadron members attending, please wear a squadron shirt and/or your name tag.  Also, bring and plan to wear a personal flotation device (life jacket) for a picture during the proclamation ceremony.  We will have extra vests for those that need them.

Also, all of the posters created by students in Miss Jennifer Jewett’s and Miss Dana Vogel’s fourth grade classes at Tommie Barfield Elementary for our poster contest will be displayed around the entry foyer to Council Chambers in advance of the meeting.  The three winners of the Squadron’s local contest swept the 9-11 age category at D22 three weeks ago.  Our first place winner will be submitted to compete at the national level in September.  The theme of the poster contest was “America’s Boating Club Means Safety.”  The first place poster was created by Ava Richardson.

See you on May 6th.

Thanks.
